Truckee Firefighters Charitable Fund (TFCF) is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization that operates under the values of community service, volunteerism, and public safety. Our goals are achieved through donations of time and money by members of the organization and the public. The TFCF's roots grow from what was once Truckee Fire Inc., founded in the early 1980’s. Its purpose was to generate funds for the department, which then, was operated largely on a volunteer basis. Today’s organization continues to be operated by current employees of the Truckee Fire Protection District, who volunteer their time and efforts.
The main purposes of the TFCF is the funding for the Roy Waters Memorial Scholarship,(awarded each year to a graduating High School student of the Truckee area who plans to pursue a career in fire suppression or emergency medicine), the funding for our Community CPR Classes, and our Community AED Program. The TFCF also provides other opportunities for community service and public education within the District.
Truckee Firefighters Charitable Fund raises most of its money during our Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast. This is made possible through the generous donations of local residents, guests, and our friends, family, and employees, who donate their time to put on this event. In exchange for their donation of time and effort, TFCF also donates a portion of the proceeds from our Pancake Breakfast to local sports teams for necessary safety equipment.

Public Education
In order to decrease the cost of public education courses, like American Heart Association CPR, TFCF subsidizes the cost of those courses so that the members of the public can afford to take such an important class. In collaboration with Truckee Fire Protection District, TFCF has also purchased three AEDs, one of which is located at Truckee High School. The other two are available for use by members of the community to use at their events. For more information, page.
